Meet Doppelganger. I came up with that because so many people think this car is a Mazdaspeed. It's not. In 2002 Mazda released 1491 special edition Miatas in Titanium Gray Metallic as well as Blaze Yellow..which most 2002 SEs were. It didn't come with a turbo, but it did get better chassis bracing over regualr Miatas, bigger brakes, better suspension, a 6-speed transmission, a 3.9 gear Torsen LSD, BOSE stereo and special saddle brown leather seats/door panel inserts/ and matching steering wheel. When Mazda released the Mazdaspeed MX-5, they used Titanioum Metallic once again...maybe that's why people think mine is a Mazdaspeed...or maybe it's the Mazdaspeed exterior bits....or maybe it's the intercooler. While so many attributes make my car and a Mazdaspeed so similar also make the cars completely different....the doppelganer.

I have aimed to make a truely well-rounded car. Many have been down this road...some successful and most not. Not only is this my daily driver (over 20k miles a year!), but I have driven it across the country, competed in 2 seasons of SCCA Auto-X (netting 2nd in SSM class for 2009), driven flat-out at numerous track days and have even made a few passes down the drag strip. Dare I mention the late night drift schenanigans and mountain runs? All this wile being very reliable. When mixing and matching OEM and aftermarket parts, much though has gone into how well they flow with each other without going to one extreme or another.

Your car is what I consider to be the epitome of miata turbo performance and looks. I hope you don't mind, but someday I plan on building a car exactly the same way yours is done.   (if I ever head down the ATL way I would love to meet up with you and make sweet love to your car   )
